'It's shocking': Spring Valley Village reacts to 2 reported armed robberies in 1 night

SPRING VALLEY VILLAGE, Texas (KTRK) -- Spring Valley Village police said officers have two people in custody following two armed robberies on Wednesday night.

Police Chief Mark Schulze said his department is continuing to work to "identify and apprehend any additional suspects involved."

In an update on Friday evening, Spring Valley Village PD told ABC13 that two men are in custody and will be charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. Investigators said that both men were allegedly responsible for both incidents.

The department said the two armed robberies took place between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

One of the alleged armed robberies took place on Bracher Street, according to a video seen by ABC13.

The video showed a woman being approached by a masked individual who got out of a car and appeared to take her things as she screamed in horror.

A nearby neighbor told ABC13 the other incident occurred on Lanell Lane while someone was jogging.

"It's shocking," resident Vince Boisaubin said. "Nothing happens around here."

Spring Valley Village police advised that anyone with information should contact them as they continue their search for more suspects.

"Our officers and investigators are actively working to address what happened and hold those people accountable," Schulze said in a statement to ABC13. "We encourage everyone to remain aware of their surroundings."
